Several varieties of special inlet and outlet fittings have been
developed for use with these Sections. Methods of installations
are:
- For "AX" Sections, offset inlet and outlet manifold
headers may be made up utilizing tees, figure
19 of appropriate size with Z flange ells, figure
20 connecting the Sections to the headers.
- When using Sections submerged in a box special extension pieces
are used to connect the overhead manifold and the bottom outlet
can be carried through the partition by a tank nozzle.
The letter "Z" in the casting mark indicates the fitting
is for use with Types AX Sections. ZNP denotes nipple port opening
for push nipple application.

Z flange ell shown here is used to offset headers made up of AX
cast iron tees. It is suitable for use in connecting 4",
6", or 8" tees to Types AX Sections. By offsetting the
tee headers, assembly is made easier and it is possible to blank
off one or more stacks for repairs while operating the balance
of the installation. Casting mark ZL6-Z. Weight 50 lbs. Also furnished
with nipple connections to Sections marked ZL6ZNP which is the
same except for port details. |
